INSTALLATION:

1. Always place the fresh, resawed side outward for viewing. This will generally be the best looking face and will   hide the air drying defects like sap stain and stick marks.

2. Strike a chalk line at the bottom of your wall, next nail your first piece of siding with the bottom edge even   with the chalk line. From this point continue putting up the siding using the 5" spacer (provided with siding). This     spacer will allow a 5-inch face to show and will also allow for enough overlap for the board to breathe due to changes in the humidity.

3. There are two common methods for nailing siding. The first, the blind nailing method calls for a #5p nail that is  placed along the top of the siding and is covered up by the next piece of siding. The second method,  face         nailing calls for a #7p nail to be placed approximately 1 ½" up from the bottom edge.

WARNING: NEVER NAIL TWO PIECES OF SIDING TOGETHER AS THIS WILL CAUSE SPLITS WHEN YOUR     SIDING BREATHES, DUE TO CHANGES IN THE HUMIDITY.

HELPFUL REMINDERS:

- To prevent future end splits avoid nailing near the ends of your siding.

- When putting siding over or under a window or door, remember to lap your sides under the window or door       facing, so when your siding breathes, you will not have a gap between the facing and the siding.

- To prevent fading of your siding, we recommend that you apply a good water sealant, such as Wolmans Wood  Preserver. Ask your salesperson for details. This will help insure a fresh, natural finish for many years to come.
